Biography

Renée M. Chacon, is the Co Founder/ Executive Director of Womxn from the Mountain an indigenous Womxn led nonprofit for transforming education through justice, art, and cultural education including as a Sahumadora en Danza Azteca.

She works providing equity frameworks in policymaking and rule makings in several environmental justice initiatives to stop environmental racism in Commerce City CO with Suncor Sundown and has helped pass several bills to protect disproportionately impacted in air quality, water quality, and addressing cumulative impacts of all harms from pollution including HB 1266.

Our communities are interconnected and need health care access, public access to education no matter the age, and incentives to change to renewable and sustainable housing, transportation, and workforce development. 

She is Co Chair on the Equity Analysis of Cumulative Impacts subcommittee for the Environmental Justice Action Taskforce Colorado Dept. of Health and Environment and is currently Commerce City Council Womxn for Ward 3.
